Flood

Flood
A thought going out to those who lost everything in the hurricanes in Texas, Florida and the Caribbean.

Nora Caracci, Beatrice Degan(MARS), Martine, Annemarie and 12 other people have particularly liked this photo

Makes life fall into perspective doesnt it. Rhetorical question.

It certainly does. I can't even imagine what it feels like to have nowhere to go!

Pretty image and great tribute, Diane !!! Nature can be so crual sometimes and I imagine how difficult it can be for all those people to start from zero again !!!!

Yes, indeed, and so scary! (Maybe not as cruel as humans, though!)

A superb image Diane, and of course our thoughts are with the people so badly affected by this dreadful hurricane.

So true. There was an appeal on the three networks last night. Two back to back disasters. Awful.

Hard to comprehend! It looks like Jose will graze the east coast, hopefully without too much damage, although flooding is a real possibility.

Watched from this side of the pond with something approaching horror. Both the living through it and the building up from scratch, I don't how one copes with that. Your image is a good one, Diane.

Just the grueling work of it all is mind-boggling. Thank you, Andy!

We thought we had it rough last night when wind speed in some parts of UK reached 85mph - I can't imagine what those poor people are going through :-(

Wow, that's a right serious wind, Keith! Yes, it's the flooding that's so horrible. Even if your house is still standing and the furniture is still there, it's all full of mold and nasty bacteria. Ugh! Thank you, Keith.

Only thing I know about where we lived in Florida --- it is hard to get around with power lines across the street -- one had best know the back roads.
No power, but hope that is the least of worries for our neighbors.

Hello and thank you, Peggy! Those power lines are terrifying! Every time there is a natural disaster, I'm reminded of how ill-equiped I am to cope on my own for 10 days or more. :-(

Super vision and artwork., Dear Diane!
Such a trenchant and significant tribute.!

Here in Italy , there are no Hurricanes yet, but thanks to our politicians ' carefulness about the changing of the climate and the wild overbuilding (done in 1960s-70s),the people have been experiencing landslides, floods.. more and more frequent earthquakes...we were not used to before.
La natura si ribella..
Good luck to mankind and get going:-)

Sorry if I have been too loghorroic and ..pessimistic!
Un abbraccio.Bea

Diane Putnam club has replied to Beatrice Degan(MARS)
It is not pessimistic! Some scientists are saying it is already too late to "fix it." Well, we are obviously in the middle of natural crisis, so when it is a fact, then that is realistic, not pessimistic. Thank you again for the insightful words from Italy, Bea.
