Lovely perspective with just a glimpse of the lighthouse in the distance. It must be a beautiful walk all along the coastline and seeing the seals must have been a bonus. HFF and have a good weekend Herb

A grand scene.. Herb'... seems a most enjoyable pathway - looks like a 'knife edge' to reach the lighthouse... but no doubt an easier route was out of view.

Good to see you Dave. The walk was easier than it looks here to the lighthouse as you surmised. This path went to the lighthouse road for an easy trek. Glad you enjoyed this.

There were many grand walks on this Devon 'South Hams' coast George. We always try to keep clear of these fence 'bites' but now and again they get me.

Thanks Roger. As you say, a great coastline around the Salcombe area here but the roads need nerves of steel to drive on. We accidentally got here in the school holiday time but apart from the busy car-parks found it quieter than expected. Well worth a visit to.

You certainly live in a great part of the country Rosa. We loved this area but was only here for a week. Thankfully it was cooler here than the rest of the country as we explored its coast. Yes, the seals were a delight to witness. I caught them on my DSLR too, so might post one here for you.

It looks as if the fence does not want you to go on. Those two unfenced poles are so close together! If you squeeze through it must be worth it!

The fence went across our path here, down to the sea but the poles were ample wide enough to go through without any chance of electrocution. I we certainly worth it my friend.

I need to explore Devon a bit more sometime!

This area is every bit as exciting as your Cornwall Andy. Yes, you must get to Salcombe and start exploring. A long way from Madrid though! Glad you liked it.

Actually I just remembered I do know the area a little, Herb.
We stayed for a wonderful weekend in Southpool in 1981 and explored a bit but I wasn't taking photos then! I also visited clients in the South Hams district. A tiny village, I forget the name. I was invited to stay the weekend. Very pretty but the narrow lanes, high walls and very narrow wooded valleys seemed a touch claustrophobic. I prefer the open expanse of the moors and the clifftops!

Curious as to the electric cable though. Surely they can't have an electric fence where the public are likely to touch it....

Glad you liked this Peter. I am surprised at you not knowing that farmers can and do put up mainly temporary electric fences all the time, regardless of how close they are to public footpaths and ways. They are made safe at path crossing points like this but normally only a warning notice every now and again stops us from getting a 'bite'. Once bitten -never forgotten, even at this low voltage, and so not really much chance of shocks for the unwary visitors here. I think were the main things to keep away here.

Hi Susanne. You are right, It is getting like that on many of our wilder paths. Most of these gateways and stiles were constructed when people where much thinner than they are now. Fortunately my wife and I have no problem with them :)

Hi Füsun, -no need to apologies, I am always happy to see you, no matter when. It was a great walk and I particularly enjoyed my scramble upon the shore rocks capturing low viewpoint sands and the seals.
