Family outing at Hope Cove

Family outing at Hope Cove
This little cave set in the village of Hope Cove near Salcombe in Devon is a wonderful day out for families in the school holidays. Fortunately the weather was fine and this cave would afford shelter in any rains.

Best full size.

Thanks Keith. The headland is 'Bolt Tail' from where the adjacent photo is taken from.

You know Daniela, as our cottage was just a couple of kilometers from here, I thought the name very beautiful too.

ps: the name Hope Cove may derive tautologically from the Old Norse word hóp meaning "bay" or "small inlet". Wiki

Oh Herb, this place brings back such wonderful memories to me!! It was the last time I was on holiday with my parents and youngest brother and sister before I got married! We rented a bungalow from dad's friend and we had the best weather ever! Love this shot :)) Cheers, Rosa.

Hello dear Rosa. It is always a pleasure for me when one of my photos are related to, by one of my viewers here. I sometimes see photos too, from other Ipernity embers that brings back happy memories. Our rented cottage was just a 15 min walk from here and I must agree that it was a very pleasant place in the better than average weather.- I hope you got a chance to revisit this little cove since that holiday with your parents.
Best wishes, Herb

Thanks a lot Peter. Yes, a cave entrance can make something special sometimes. The cove itself was a fine little spot and would have been even better in good lighting. We did manage to get a quick sunset - on the same day though, after a rush drive down from the cottage.
