Morecambe Bay

Morecambe Bay
A view towards the North East and the Lake District from Morecambe promenade. Directly in front is Silverdale and Grange-over-Sands. This stylish structure is in fact the 'Yacht's Race Office' as there are many yacht races held in this bay - but not on this day

Hi Dave, yes the day started very overcast but it brightened as the day went on. My HFF photo was taken only a few hundred yards from this spot, so as you quite a few opportunities for me including another fence this coming Friday. I hope you get a chance to see Eric's statue on my adjacent page here. Glad you enjoyed this. Beware the present hot weather. Herb

Oh, it's a pity Herb. A few colorful sails had wonderfully matched this beautiful photo.
Best wishes,Lothar

Ah Lothar, as you know, we cannot have everything! I rather liked the scene even without the yachts though, as I think you did too.

A well know disaster in these parts my friend. I actually walked over the same cockle area, in a cross-bay guided walk at around the same time of 2004. It should not have happened but some people will always be taken advantage off, in spite of the law and safety. ~ Herb

A threatening sky, but it's given you some lovely diffused light which has brought out the lovely detail in this shot. The "office" is perfectly placed in the frame! A super job Herb!

Thanks Keith. Yes the darkish sky did not see so very threatening at the time so my processing might have brought this out a little :) Like you, I loved this little spot and it ended up a great day for photographs. Glad you enjoyed the office.
Cheers, Herb

a beautiful bay
but no person...?

By person to you mean the Eric Morecambe statue, which is a few hundred metres from here, or do you mean 'people' on the beach? It was too cold for people to be sat here at this part of the beach. There were some on the sand a little further away though.
Thanks for this observation. Herb
