A Cyprus pier

A Cyprus pier
The 'Lighthouse Beach' pier in Paphos is the spot where this pier lives. For us, just a few meter's away from a nice beach cafe, and so a place where I can see the waves hitting the end whilst drinking my coffee and thinking, "should I go take a shot or not", you know the answer to that.

Not safe to walk on while the tide is this high, Herb.

You are right Amelia. I did run down the pier one or twice to try different shots but got my feet wet.

Sounds a lovely way to spend some time Herb, in a nice cafe, in the sunshine watching the waves! I am happy to enjoy it from your picture. All the best, Rosa.

Ah yes, it was Rosa. We sat there surrounded by sand, sea and playing children, drinking coffee and hearing mostly the waves. It was not very hot but for us quite perfect. We later walked the other side of the more commercialised hotel side of Paphos where I got a HFF fence capture. Thanks for the visit. Keep good, Herb

Vous avez bien fait de prendre cette photo après avoir siroté votre café..
Une belle perspective qui finit par nous éblouir par l'effet des éléments déchaînés.
Bonne fête du premier Mai.

Ah Malik -that was no problem as it was not an Irish Coffee made with Whisky. These piers are always attractive to us painters of the sea and its coast by camera. Glad you enjoy it.

Have a great May Day. Herb

A great perspective and composition. The wave action is lovely, especially at the far end of the pier. A great job, as always Herb.

It sounds like an ideal location to sit and watch the world go by............but a cold beer sounds much better than a coffee!

Thanks Keith, another welcome comment here. It was a change for us to sit down -we are generally always on the go. Normally, I too would prefer a cool beer too but it was quite cool on this day, so a hot coffee was called for. Glad you liked this one.

Lovely. How was the coffee? The waves don´t go away, nor the pier... they just change, so any time is good to take the photo(s)

The coffee was good Eva. Actually I think it was a Cappuccino. Ah but you are wrong my friend, there had been some strong winds and now the waves were going every minute a little less intense. As you say though changing :) Glad you liked it.

Hi Herb.

Deeply impressed by the evocative vision of this courageous pier (but the photographer was certainly more!) that challenges the furious wind and angry waves going ahead into the sea.
Great perspective, fantastic light and shades of tones .

Best wishes, Bea
