Urban- high fence

Walking along the Coastal Broadwalk of Paphos, Cyprus we can see fences where we would not expect to see them. Here between the ‘Alexandra the Great’ hotel and some apartments, up to the main road, is this attractive waterway. It is actually the outlet to the sea of the River Limnaria. I expect it can at times be a torrent. High above us is this fenced walkway that I unfortunately did not explore. It finishes as a dead-end just behind me.

Hi Steve, this was invisible to the hotel and apartments which both had cracking views over the sea and promenades. I am now regretting not putting my vertical sister photo on here instead which had better reflections and sky making it all look much more attractive. I went for the fence shadow instead. Ah well -can't all be winners! Glad you liked the lighting at least.

I really like the shadow fence as well Herb...........as it is pretty central in the frame, it easily catches the eye.

I'm not sure I would call this this an attractive waterway..............too much concrete and not enough greenery. Having said that, the photo is very well composed with some lovely light and dappled shadows.

Thanks Keith. You are right, my main focus here was on the fences. I took a wide-angle portrait one too that showed the waterway off much better with fine reflections of the columns. The light was indeed nice despite the clouds. Glad you liked the composition of course.
