Thanks Tanja. In some respects, this area is a paradise, in others, as I drive nearer to my home I see all the bad things that come with many people living in close proximity. You can understand why I escape to these hills as often as I can.

I use grad filters a lot too, by the way.. Did me very well for the snow in Switzerland!

Hi Peter, yes, normally I would not have taken this in such weather but this theme beckoned for something local again from me and the filter helped. (Not that I carry them all the time). I think with your Swiss snow shots, a filter would have been essential as seen by the quality of your work out there.

It is Dimas, especially at certain times and seasons. My favourite is when there is new snow and pure reflections in the rare calm waters here. (there are three reservoirs in this immediate area and another one high above the hills here on the left.)

Xata, good to see you here. This is the typical countryside of the high hilly range of 'The Pennines' running up the heart of Northern England. I know that I am lucky here but then I think how lucky people are who live near the sea. Most of the time I never use filters, but they have their uses for sure.

All places have pros and cons...
I am glad to live in the south close to the sea, but in summer it becomes hell with tourists and in winter as it is not cold I miss extreme bad weather...for a forthnight or two for a change!
