Thanks a lot John. It was only a short way up from the road. I let my telephoto do the rest. Note my 130mm is akin to a 195mm in 35mm terms. So a long pull. I was with older relatives and so might have ran up there otherwise :)

Beautifully composed in lovely light...............I like the way your telephoto has compressed the perspective.

Thanks Keith, you are right the white capped peak (Great Sandal?) was some distance further back. Glad you liked this one.

It was a great little spot. We parked the car just a couple of hundred yards below from where I took this for the start of a round walk towards Ullswater.

I have only been to the lake district once Herb, but thought it was so beautiful. Also my daughter has a Patterdale Terrier, so an extra star for this lovely shot ;-)) Have a good new week...Rosa.

Indeed it is quite beautiful Rosa. Even in poor weather it has its charms. The only thing is, its quite big and varied needing many trips to explore all. I wish I had the energy, time and skills to do more of the peaks than I have actually done. Co-incidentally, my pal also has a Patterdale Terrier that I see every few weeks -its quite daft and never does what it has been told -even got expelled out of obedience/training school but it does have a loverble charm too! Glad you like the pic. Regards, Herb

Eee lad, this area certainly has a different feel in the heart of a Winter blizzard. As you can see this was taken in February and so it can still be very allowable -at least on the lower levels. Thanks for the call, Herb

A beautiful landscape. The lake district is a beautiful region!

Thank you Rainer. Yes, you are right, it is quite beautiful, but nowadays a casualty of its own success with so many tourist everywhere including every valley, lake and mountain. You can hardly move on the roads in mid tourist season and every hotel, B&B and cottage is booked many months before. But, when you are there, it is still possible to find quite area's and suddenly be in a World far away.

Perfect light for this wonderful shot!! In my walking days I had quite a few holidays in the Lakes, it was full then but nowhere as bad as it is now.
