I think a little past the limit in size of the 900mm more a 1500mm shot to get the detail. this has been cropped a little more than the usual stacking artifacts. when I went out with the grand daughter this was at home 58 shot 10 min all night long stopped at 5:20 am next morning. it was a case of waiting for this to rise above the shed to start.

I was shown how to edit this galaxy. as we still can not replace best way I can show the reality.

A great shot Steve... really top notch - you have a proper rewarding hobby there...// Btw.. your photo' was taken April 11th. yet my computer date still showed 'our' day as the 10th. I know why of course, but it's the first time I've ever noticed that...
Keep well and 'good wishes' to you from Dj.

Photo was started 8:20pm on the 9th finished out on the 10th 5:20am, I edited it on the 11th and posted on the 11th. I think this is beyond the limits of getting a good photo. I have been toying with the idea having three cameras for Astro but only one scope. full frame 600mm, DX crop sensor 900mm and purchasing a 1" sensor with a crop factor of 3 so 1800mm. thinking on this.

Thank you Ko but I do feel this is just beyond the limits on my set up. I did shoot it as it was up over the shed so it was a whole night. You can read my thought above as to where I would like to be going forward. I have to say though I was over the moon when I saw the result once it was put together and brought to life in PixInsight.

I do have to say I am now enjoying this as it all falls into place and even contemplating a two shot mosaic with the Astro cam of the SMC

Small Magellanic Cloud only half of it

As this is only half but its a two night job, but FF and scope done in one night. part of the learning process. Having helped my mentor with his 6 panel shot of Carina as he was not able to make it work but I have had more than a few years With PTGui. Yes it worked but it showed a flaw in the program he used. Left side plenty of over lay but right side just off over lap last set of frames.
