Orion(M42) & Running Man(NGC1977) - well worth a look full screen on black

Orion(M42) & Running Man(NGC1977) - well worth a look full screen on black
This was a test to see how well the computer program worked on its own.

I had to wait for Orion to rise at 11pm so I could start this 3 hours and a bit imaging and then the all important Darks. It was set up and go to bed set the alarm for 2:45 in the morning to put the lens cap on the lens for the Dark's then go back to bed. This had to happen before the sun started to rise at 4 am in the morning.

When I got up at 6 am it was all on computer just as it was programed Looks like we have tamed a few of those dragons. Taken with D810 and 300mm D prime lens. This will be visited again out on the farm in the real dark.

Enjoy the first night that Fully went to plan and computer lived up to what it was suppose to do. Cant wait for Orion to rise sooner to get more images.

PIP the first look on the Star adventurer.

Thanks Nick there have been so many problems but feel for the first time we have it right and I look forward to getting out into the Black of night more often. This is how I wanted my astro shots to be like better control than the last tracker.

It has been a very long roads but I believe we have tamed all the errant bits . This how I wanted to show the shots of space from the star and I am happy to finally get to where I wanted. It will only get better as I feel more comfortable.

Hi Steve

This is brilliant!!!

Fantastic colours

I am so amazed that you can get pictures like this from your house. I always imagine a huge telescope in an observatory..

Best Wishes, a nice week ahead, and stay safe!!

This 100% from my home in the edge of the city and its only a true 420MM lens as it is taken on a full frame camera. Having the larger sensor it gives me the chance to crop a bit out of the stacking process and the alignment. I have since re done this image from the very start with what I now know and have learnt in Photoshop this is the 4 time but this time from the very start to produce a much better image. The image above.

it is all a huge learning process not quite what I had in mind at the star but the net result worth it in the end. I am glad you still enjoy these images It takes me back to my father book on space( time life) and these images thus far betters the results in the book. as you say all done with moderately normal gear, thank you for sticking by the learning..

I hope you look at the very latest one that I have redone and all the details of the faint dust clouds that PixInsight brought out.
