Die ist auch gut.
Wir haben vor 20 Jahren bei einer Rundreise in den Südstaaten auch eine Plantage besichtigt, auf der noch die Quartiere (Hütten) der Slaven erhalten waren. (Man bekommt sonst nur die Herrenhäuser zu sehen). Die Version von Sinatra klingt mehr wie das Lied, das wohl früher die Sklaven gesungen haben.

Thank you. I think this version of the song fits better with the history of slaves in the southern states. we were able to visit these quarters on a plantation, it was pathetic how the rich plantation owners accommodated their workers.
