A very attractive shot, Amelia. You were no doubt waiting for it, so I feel no shame in being the first to ask whether this duck house is one of those famous tax-deducktable ones.

Definitely tax deducktible, Andy. The monies were used to buy more herbs to cure various mallardies.

The first monks were Catholic and couldn't eat meat on a Friday. The abbeys had fish ponds and stocked them with carp for the table. I presume this was the original fish pond that supplied fresh fish to the monks before the Abbey was dissolved. The carp were not native to England and were brought in from the continent. There is an old rhyme that goes hops and barley, carps and beer were brought into England all in a year.

The Fishpond is separate there... I gave Amelia the link www.ipernity.com/doc/pamj/22274485 and the Carp info yesterday. Coincidence !

I do like this Glastonbury series, Used to visit quite often way back when. I think the pond was for their carp on Fridays when they didn't eat meat
