According to out mutual friend, Peter, these are not strictly fences but are guard rails. Let's hope they don't join the strike!

HFF, Amelia! I wonder what it feels like to walk over the viaduct when a train is coming along.....

I mwonder ott, Gudrun. We wtached abiut 4 trains crossing here that afternoon, The speed limit is very low to prevent too much vibration I suppose, so perhaps the walkers felt safe enough to feel superior to the passengers. ;-)
