I had a sort of lapse in my latest craze - I really enjoyed at my first attempt at using epoxy resin. I made some items to put on a chain, but I wasn't completely pleased with the result, so I ordered some better moulds and also some dried flowers etc. As I'd already started making jewellry, I had lots of small items to put in the resin - like tiny beads, sequins etc. I'd also got some dye for the resin. Until I'd got my newer moulds and I watched several tutorials on YouTube for making resin models, or jewellry, I thought I'd have a go.

Well yesterday I made a small paper weight - I'd put some dried flowers in it, but I think I put too many in - so you learn as you go along.....

I'm quite pleased with it - although I did have problems getting the right ratio of resin and hardner, hence it was a bit sticky until I put it under the UV light and it was soon rock hard - it looks like glass too.

I'm going to try to make balls or hearts to put on a chain for Christmas presents. I'll also try and make matching earrings - that's my intention anyway!! - slowly, slowly.......

I've had all this spare time this year - stuck indoors - you'd think I'd have made loads of things by now - but no!!!! I wasted a lot of my time just doing other things. I thought I'd also make some shortbread biscuits, orange and lemon flavours as extras to my neighbours. I thought of the jewellry for the ladies and maybe some paper weights or keyrings for the gentlemen - then they can stuff themselves with the shortbread. Like everyone else - things are a little tight nowadays, so I do hope my neighbours understand. Oh I've already bought them tubs of chocolates in my grocery shopping each week - then you don't notice the money going out!!

I meant to show this before, it was a lovely gift from Emily to me last Christmas. It's a huge throw. She crocheted it, and it took her almost a year, picking it up as and when she had spare time - it's so beautifully colourful and it brightens up my bedroom wonderfully. I've draped it over the couch in my room and notice the variety of colours every time I look at it.

Just ignore other things in the picture - I was in the middle of sorting things out.

I hope everyone is keeping safe. It looks like we are all going through our second wave of this virus. I'm so tired of not being able to see my children. Tony, who lives about 60 miles away, can't come up because he works in the University, which seems to be one of the hotbeds of the virus. So even though he wears a mask and gloves all the time, he still thinks it unwise for him to come up and see me, considering I have COPD as well as other things. I'm missing him like crazy, but am so pleased in a funny way, that he's considerate like that. As for Mandi, in Turkey, it's almost 18 months now since I've seen her and it's horrible. We are so close and this deliberate separation is horrendous for us. All I can say is - thank heavens for Skype!!!!!

Well folks, that's about it - I don't do very much, so therefore I don't have a lot to write about. I'm starting now to make some items, so at least I can show you them!!!

Please take care of yourselves and stay safe.
