Well today was a sort of half and half day weatherwise. This morning it was beautiful blue sky and so Mandi and I decided to go to the hotel pool for a swim and a bit of a sunbathe. As it had rained for about 5 minutes last night, and there is a lot of dust around, when Mandi went to collect her car (it being dark blue) you can imagine how awful it looked. It was if it had been in a sand hill. Being dark blue, of course it looked worse. I know how Mandi feels about driving around in a dirty car, so I suggested we went to the local garage and had a car wash. This was a great idea - but staying in the car while it happened - not such a great idea!!! It was so hot and humid and of course all windows etc had to be shut - I was absolutely melting in the car and couldn't wait for the wash to finish. I must admit it was the first time I'd ever been in a car during a car wash and it was quite good fun, but in this heat around here - not a great idea.

Anyway at last we were ready to go down to the hotel and have a swim. It was so wonderfully cool. We had the whole pool to ourselves and it was glorious. We'd bought a pool noodle for me, I am still unsure of swimming. I know how to swim, it's just the rest of my body can't remember!!! Luckily the pool isn't too deep - I can just about stand up in it, so that gives me some comfort.

Once dried off, I closed my eyes as you do when it's hot and sunny - and I think I must have nodded off. I woke up only a few minutes later, because I was getting wet, from rain!!!!!!!!!!! So we had to quickly get ourselves up and dressed by which time, the rain had stopped. There were quite a few dark clouds on their way, so we both thought it was a good time to go home.

We got home, said hello to the myriad of cats waiting for us. Apologised for not being there when they wanted us to be there and gave a quick stroke and cuddle before going indoors.

I was doing the washing up when Mandi mentioned there was a sunset. Not expecting much, I carried on doing the washing up and she went outside and took pictures with her phone. These are the results of a couple she took.....

Considering she doesn't have any filters or enhancements on her phone, these are amazing. I'm honestly wondering about whether to buy myself a new phone instead of a new camera. She just points and presses - staggering. By the time she showed me the pictures, the sunset had gone!! It only lasts around 5 or 10 minutes in this part of the world - being near the equator. Never mind, I'm here for another 3 and a half weeks, so I'm sure I'll find another one before I go home.

Okay folks, I'm getting tired and think I need to go to bed soon - it's only half past 10 - what's going on here? I'm a night owl - not an early bird.
