Sorry I haven't been on here much these last couple of days folks, but I seem to be busy, busy, busy. Can't see what I've actually achieved though - but the days seem to be whizzing past quickly.
Tomorrow I have a nice day planned - Joyce and Richard next door, are having a house warming party, which is combined with their Silver Wedding anniversary. So it's strange really - I've lived next door to that house for almost 60 years and this will be the first time I'll have gone next door!!! Strange I know, but they always used to call round here. Anyway it'll be lovely to go round and see what the house looks like from the inside.
I've made a copy of the house from the air. Someone took a picture about 20 years ago. I thought they might like to have a copy, I've also got them some flowering plants and a bottle of wine. I can't afford much, but it's the thought that counts eh?
Anyway - the other day, it was a gorgeous day for once, and I thought I'd chance it to get a sunset at Westward Ho! The wind was lovely and warm and the tide was almost in - so it was a great time.
There were quite a few people there, both surfers and families enjoying the sea and sun... as you can see the waves were quite small, just enough for newbies and enough to give proper surfers some chance of "catching the waves". We are very lucky to live in this land, because sunsets take about an hour to happen, which gives you plenty of time to take loads of pictures, unlike where my daughter lives, their sunsets last around 10 minutes, from full sun to total darkness. Also we do have plenty of clouds which really helps to make sunsets.......
The reason my photos are different colours is because I used different cameras and I was really surprised at the difference in depth of colour with each camera. It's funny really, because I used the sunset mode on both cameras - still it gives pictures different looks......
Then just as the sun went down, a damn great big bank of clouds came up from the horizon and so the sun disappeared behind that and not behind Lundy Island as I'd hoped - never mind eh.
I recently played around with a new app I've added on my computer, and this is the result........
Gives a great effect eh?
Belated greetings.............

Yes, camaeras do give different effects even when on 'Same settings', with my EOS 400D SLR all sunsets have a brownish look, with the PowerShot they look normal with variations of pink orange red etc as we see them.

Jenny McIntyre club has replied to Pam J clubDo you take anything to drink whilst there? I can just see me with a nice flask of coffee enjoying that view for hours.
Those are lovely gifts for your neighbours and I'm sure they'll be well appreciated. Hope you have a lovely time.

Actually, each camera has its advantages in different situations; the phone camera takes excellent low light shots, so it's my go to camera for touring a museum or other indoor venue. It takes good shots outdoors too, but DoF isn't great with it, so I use the Nikon for those times when I need depth and mood.
Enjoy the housewarming party! I am quite sure that your neighbors will love anything you give them for a housewarming gift; if you have doubts, remember that the most important gift is you and your friendship! ;-)
