Apparently all three chicks have flown their nest.......... all safely too. I've checked all around the house and there are no dead chicks nor even any feathers anywhere. They were all at the bottom of the roof, tottering along the gutter, albeit wobbly enough for Ann and Peter to hold their breath a couple of times. Then tAnn and Peter went indoors because of the rain and when they came out when it stopped - all three chicks were conspicuous by their absence. Even all the gulls have gone too so it's really nice and quite at the moment. The last couple of days has been so noisy, that's probably Mum, Dad, countless aunts, uncles and cousins encouraging the little ones to fly.

So where they've gone I don't know, but I look forward to the family returning to nest next year.

Also I noticed that the blackbirds, and the thrushes are having a wonderful feast on my cherries. They'd only come out a couple of days ago and I was hoping for a lovely cherry pie - well I'm going to have to buy some in the shops, because my feathered friends have decided to fill their beaks!!!
