On Monday night the Calgary Power 138kV Bowron Substation in West Lethbridge caught fire. at 11:35PM fire fighters where at the scene. I just found an ENMAX 115kV line that goes through a back alley like it is a distribution line! The line also features the huge 138kV post insulators that HECo & Delmarva Power use!

No going to Brooks, AB until I get better... I caught a case of soar throat and I just feel like staying in my bed all day. I might be able to get there this Friday and if I don't then I will go next friday for sure.

I have plans to go to Brooks, AB to photograph the biggest 240kV right of way in Alberta! Which has three double circuit 240kV lines and two huge 240kV subs beside Hwy 36. Then I have plans to go more north into ATCO Electric's territory.

The first line was the new Heartland double circuit 500kV line that when from Edmonton to the Fort Saskatchewan area and Calgary Power and ATCO Electric are currently building two 500kV HVDC lines that bring power from the power plants from the north down to southern Alberta.

I might take a trip out to Taber or Medicine Hat but depends on how much time I can get off next week... If you have any requests on where I should go from previous photos I have taken in Alberta than start commenting!

Since I don't have the time or money to go to Eastern AB to visit their grid I will just do google maps photos.

I am looking at a lot online that is on Route 404 near Queen Anne, MD and I'm thinking about living in the Queen Annes County area so that I can be close to the Bay Bridge and Baltimore.

Fortis Alberta offered 10.2 Million Dollars to purchase the City of Cardston's electric distribution system and the city declined the offer. The people living in the city said that they would rather have their own electric system than be part of the Fortis system. So now there are three 25kV to 4.16kV transformers located around the city to connect to Fortis instead. This all happened last year.
