Apple Drinking Water Fountain.

Apple Drinking Water Fountain.
All three pictures were taken at 'The Newt in Somerset'. The main picture is explained by the title. The first PiP showing crab apples and the second PiP is a plaque on the wall. I will show more photos from The Newt in the coming week and explain more about the place.

Is this where the expression "Pissed as a newt" originated from do you think Rosa?

Happy 2023

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Nick Weall club
It could well be Nick. The Newt was named because of the discovery of rare great crested newts in the grounds, which stopped all work for a looooong time!

All the best for 2023 Nick :-))

Jajaja..

You are wise to that fact as well Jose Manuel ;-)) I am impressed that you noticed the ground covering. I wondered about it myself, but as it was my first visit I didn't get the chance to enquire, but I will find out, as I think I will be a frequent visitor to this wonderful place.
Sunday greetings.

I love that drinking fountain, it's really beautiful. You've captured the water droplets coming out of the spout perfectly.

I also love those beautiful red berries............your focus and depth of field are spot on and the bokeh is gorgeous.

A couple of nice verses in the plaque in the second PiP, but I'm not sure about the drinks recipe!

A super little series Rosa.

I am pleased you like the drinking fountain Keith, I thought it was beautiful. Thank you also for your kind comments. It was a captivating place to visit. Many of my friends have recommended it and called it their happy place. It will take many visits to see all that is on offer there.

I'm with you on the drinks recipe Keith ;-))

Great series...and I like the name "The Newt" as all. Did you see any? ;-)

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Edna Edenkoben club
I thought so too Edna. It had a sensor, so only operated when you are close.
Yes I did see a newt....It's a long story about why it has that name, but in short, they had to stop all work when a rare great crested newt was found!
Have a good new week my friend.

A drinking fountain like this, Rosa, should provide scrumpy instead of water. LOL. Cheers, Joe

You're right Joe. Too posh for scrumpy though....they make cyder!

Drinking fountains do seem to be making a comeback even if they are called a hydration station !!
I have to admit a drinking fountain wasn't my first thought !!! I hope you are having a nice Sunday Rosalyn

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Peter Castell club
Is that what they call them now! If all the new ones looked as good as this one, that would be nice. I remember one outside our local vicar's house that we used to use on the way home from school. Sadly it is no longer there. It was very ornamental and beautiful.
Have a good new week Peter.

A thematic series that I really like, Rosa. This evocation of the great William is stimulating and served by your lovely captures.
The crab apples are particularly beautiful, the other two superbly done.
Have you ever tasted lambswool, that so popular drink?? The recipe sounds rather appealing, doesn't it?
Have a nice day, my dear friend.
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Eric Desjours club
Thank you very much for your kind comment Eric. I loved reading the plaques that were on some of the walls. I haven't ever tried Lambswool, but it is a Wassail drink, and Wassail is popular in Somerset, being an apple growing county.
Happy Wednesday my friend.
