Such a lovely looking cottage...........I particularly like the brickwork here.........I notice two styles which suggest they may have been done at different times (and the same different styles for the lower half of the ruling as well). The thatched roof with the cats is superb

Many changes over the centuries I think Keith. I am pleased they have kept the thatched roofs and the cats are a nice addition. I can't remember seeing the cats before, and I have walked along this road many times over the years, but probably on the path in front of the houses, so I wouldn't have seen the cats :-)

I wasn't sure what they were as I was walking towards them Edna, but I think they are definitely cats :-) In the early 1970's I often saw an elderly lady looking out of one of the windows and she always used to smile and give a little wave.

I think there was originally a much lower thatch Peter and over the years the top half has been built up. The bottom Shaftesbury greenstone is quite expensive and I guess the bricks would have been much cheaper. Thanks for the reminder about John Lennon. I remember hearing about his murder so well. His birthday is two days after mine...I always remembered that too.

Love the cat-fight on the roof of this one Rosa. I imagine now photographed many times. Its quite surprising how there thatch roofs alter as time goes by as spoken about above. Dorset has many houses like this I think. Well done.
