The Lost Portrait
On Friday I visited the Russell Cotes Museum in Bournemouth, for a talk by Charles Dickens' great great great granddaughter, Lucinda Hawksley, called "Dickens and Christmas". I knew nothing about the lost portrait, which shows him when he was much younger than the usual picture we see when he was in his mid 50's and looking even older. The story is very interesting and if you wish to know more I will leave a link. The portrait was a miniature by Scottish artist Margaret Gillies.
The 2nd PiP shows Lucinda Hawksley book signing. The main picture is best NOT viewed large, as it was taken from a screen showing the slide.
