Bei uns gab es zu Halloween richtige Ausschreitungen,in Linz haben 200 Jugendliche sich mit der Polizei richtige Gefechte gemacht,leider waren es Judendliche,bis 20 Jahre, junge Syrer, Afghanen und Tschetschenen,die alle bei uns Asyl haben,die Gewalt nimmt leider immer mehr zu:))

OK, although I'm not sure if I'm so good at knitting. We had to knit socks at school (ok, that was not the only thing, lol) and my pair was a big hit because one sock was smaller than the other!! I still had patience for the first one, but apparently I had wanted to complete the second one as quickly as possible!! ;-))
My teacher was not amused! :-D

My gran taught me to knit, but we did dress making at school. I was having problems with a sleeve and the teacher kept sending me back to do it again. In the end I showed her my first sleeve which, which was perfect.....she didn't notice ;-))

Gosh, socks are tricky to knit!

As far as I remember they weren't only tricky but downright horrible to knit ;-)) At least for me, but I must admit that I'm not super talented with those things.
LOL, Rosa, your story cracked me up because, believe it or not, that's what I did with my socks. I showed my teacher the good one and she didn't look at the other!! ;-))

And we had to do dressmaking at school as well and I had the crazy idea to make a dress with a fluffy skirt. I didn't notice that I was sewing the waist line so narrowly that not even a Barbie doll would have fit into it!! ;-)))

My late mother-in-law used to knit all the time, and socks too!
I still love sewing and recently made my daughter a 1960's style dress to wear to a gig.
Haha, I would love to have seen your face when you realised your mistake with the waist ;-))

Oh, how fun! I bet your daughter loved it. My mom was great at sewing and made dresses for both of us, it was just one of her hobbies, but she had learned it from her mom who was a professional dress maker.

LOL, I would have loved to see my own face, too! ;-))

The folks who knot and crochet stuff to go on top of pillar boxes have my utmost admiration. I have seen decorated pillars in Shrewsbury but not this year.

They are very clever Amelia. It must be nice to have their work appreciated.
I see Shrewsbury is doing the Christmas Carol Film Tour again this year.
I doubt if we will be able to come, but I would love to.

What a great find Rosa................it's been beautifully done and of course, it's very topical. Very well captured.

No one seems to take much notice of Halloween down here, but it's a big deal in Exmouth. To be honest we just mostly ignore it if we're not with the grandchildren :-))

They do seem to be everywhere Keith.
Didn't have any callers in this village, but I had a few sweets ready in case.
It's quite a big deal in Yeovil, where Sophie lives too. I think she felt too old for trick or treating, but she dressed up and had a little party with her friends, and the young callers at their house where pleased when they opened the door.

In Exmouth, those who are willing to get involved leave a lit-up pumpkin in the window or garden!
