Sheep on Glastonbury Tor!

Sheep on Glastonbury Tor!
Tidying up my photo archives I came across this picture taken at the top of Glastonbury Tor.
I have added a link showing drone footage taken by my son-in-law, giving a great aerial view of The Tor and St Michael's Tower at the top. I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you Joe. The sheep seemed very used to people and sat amongst them.
Usually they just run away! Cheers, Rosa.

Thank you very much Nick. He has just bought a new drone and is still getting used to it, but he is getting some lovely footage. Where he lives in Yeovil, they are banned completely, because of the helicopter business and Yeovilton of course.

Warm wishes, Rosa.

Such a beautiful image Rosa............the sheep are certainly not camera-shy. The view from up there looks really awesome.

Your son-in-law's drone footage is fantastic.........and shares perspectives that relatively few people will ever see. Brilliantly done!

It does look like a bit of a trek to get up there though (I don't suppose there is a lift)?
19 months ago. Edited 19 months ago.
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Keith Burton club
Thank you Keith. Many of the sheep were sat with children! It was lovely to see, and none of them were bothered.

Lee is really enjoying using the drone and has been asked to do a couple of weddings, which have been fantastic and 'different' footage.

Haha, no lift I'm afraid and the first time I ever climbed to the top I took the back steps, which at times was scary! You can see how much steeper it is in the video. The NT path, although quite a climb, is a lot easier.

There was an episode (I forgot the title) about an esoteric festival, but of course the place was not Glastonbury, but some fictitious village in Midsomer county. I had a feeling it was a parody on Glastonbury ;-)
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Edna Edenkoben club
Yes I expect you are right Edna :-) The writer of the series actually got the title idea from Somerset. He was driving through a small town called Midsomer Norton and he liked the name! My cousin lives there, but I think she is safe ;-))

Saludos, Rosa

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to José Manuel Polo club
Thank you very much for your kind comments Jose Manuel. Usually sheep run away as soon as humans are near, but these were sat amongst the children on the Tor and were happy to share their space. I am pleased you liked the video. I will have to take a look at the Dover clip.

Baa, they certainly have a good view up there, was the stone for the construction cut from the hillside there appears to be what could be the site of quarrying , I hope you have a nice Friday Rosalyn Good night
19 months ago.
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Peter Castell club
Thank you Peter. It's not manmade. "The Tor lies on a fault line in the geology where a natural spring, the Chalice Well, brings minerals to the surface. The theory is that this spring hardened an area of rock which then resisted erosion. Over millions of years as the land around was eroded the Tor survived to give us the dramatic feature we see today." This taken from The Avalon Marshes website.
Have a nice day Peter.
