It was lovely Amelia. We saw a lot of Sika deer but they were too far away. The last time Michelle visited they were much closer but that was later in the afternoon. Thanks for you kind comments.

I really like the trees in this shot - the two in the foreground seem to be almost mirroring each other! I also like the vibrant green of the moss! Very well composed and taken.

A cracking collection of PiPs too. I like the one of the artist at work, and it looks very peaceful there. The yellow flower in the 3rd PiP is really pretty and stands out nicely against the green of the leaves.

My fave though, is the PiP showing the rotting fruit and the ants..............a brilliant piece of macro work. The ants are sharp and detailed and the colours in the fruit are just gorgeous.

A superb series Rosa. I've enjoyed looking at them.

There were some amazing trees there Keith. I would have liked to get a closer look at the painting in the second picture, but didn't want to disturb the artist. It looked good from where I was though.

I am pleased you like the ants! My daughter didn't want me to take that shot, but they were so interesting to watch and pretty big too!

Thank you so much for your great comments. Always appreciated.

A lovely series of shots. I like them all. The multi trunked tree has beautifully elegant spreading branches as well as its moss cushion. Like Keith the ants are a fave. It's such a detailed shot. I would have liked to see a large version there are so many interesting things going on.

The two trees look as thought hey don't want to talk to each other !! the ants seem to be enjoying the medlar, a nice dogs tooth violet I've not seen one growing in the wild

Thank you Peter. I enjoyed watching the ants. I think they are wood ants. I thought the flower was a fawn lily Peter, but I'm not sure now. A bit of a frost early this morning!

What a lovely, peaceful place. I enjoyed all of your pictures. So different and interesting. The lily made me smile, we have similar ones that grow here, I flop on the ground to get picture from below...it's a neck-strainer for sure but what a lovely flower! :) They are also lovely from your view as well! www.ipernity.com/search/photo?w=290645&q=henderson%27s+fawn+lily

I love the strong graphic shape of the tree in the top image, Rosa. It looks quite spooky!

In the 'Artist at Work' image, you have captured well the sense of concentration.

I love the detail in your macro shot of the ants and the apple.

You have obtained a very effective shallow depth of field, in the last image, that makes the yellow wildflower stand out from the background.

Cheers,

Joe
