Lovely photo. When I see the broads I always think of Arthur Ransome. I wonder if the Swallows and Amazons would recognise it now.

I don't know Jean but it's a great reminder to me of this book! A long time ago since I read it but I remember enjoying it very much.

There used to be a bus service from Pinner in Middlesex to Wrotham in Kent, amazingly! (It's near Sevenoaks). I saw a photo of it from the 1930s.
I'd never heard of Wrotham but had heard of, and been to, Wroxham in The Broads and confused the two in my mind. So for years I had this image of a near-empty bus stopping off at minor villages and following country lanes and taking 20 hours to get there and another 20 hours to get back!
Even so it wouldn't have been a quick journey to Wrotham, either!
