Wonderful signage! "Pass" and "STOP" in close succession, The AED and DEA sign, and "No bikes in the lobby." Bedding plants, too!! The background din of modern life.

Thanks, Bob, especially for the phrase "background din". There's a lot of that going around, eh? I'll be looking for more.

DEA is French for AED -- the US Drug nforcement Agency has not extended its powers to Canada yet.

Great selection of signs or notices in fact they almost read like orders, well spotted and captured John, but no bikes in the lobby is a step too far.

Thanks, Roger. No armchairs in the lobby, either. You'd think they'd be a sine qua non.

Haha, I always thought we Germans were the worst with prohibition signs....;-)

My favourite prohibition signs are in England, Gudrun. In Cambridge I saw "Do not walk on the grass unless accompanied by a senior member of the college" and in London I saw "The leaving of bicycles in this entrance must cease." I have photos of them somewhere, too -- should look them out.

I seem to remember the one with the senior member of the college from my single visit to Oxford;-) All so very polite....

You're right, Léopold. I spent a lot of time trying to read the signs in the photo.

Ha, ha...........whoever does their window display needs sacking.............. it's almost as if the shop owerners don't want you inside. I can't even work out what the shop is selling (apart from bedding plants, apparently). You'd need to set aside half-an-hour to read what you can and cannot do before entering.

A great find John...............the burning question is did you buy any bedding plants?

It also reminded me, Keith, of those mysterious stores with the windows covered over and a very furtive clientele. I haven't seen any of those here, though. This is a supermarket.

Gardening is too much like work for me, Keith. And I don't have a flowerbed. So I didn't give any plants a new home.

Ha, ha..........I have no idea what sort of stores you mean Andy. I've led a very sheltered life :-)

To be honest, I'm not that keen on gardening........that's my wife's department, but I do help out when I'm ordered to do so. I do like sitting in the garden with a beer and a book though (and taking photos of course)!

I'm suspicious of any store you can't see into, Keith. As I say, though. I haven't seen any like that here. One of my neighbours has a balcony festooned with colourful silk flowers where she likes to sit out. Even that would be too much work for me, though.

"Do not block the doorway while reading the signs" should also be up there!

It's an automatic door, to, George. If you're there, it stays open.
