McMann Reunion

McMann Reunion
Another reunion. I posted a shot of a reunion recently (it's in the note at top left). Diane Putnam remarked under that photo that these outdoor reunions and community picnics used to be more common. I suspect she's right. Anyway. I remembered I had this longer shot of one, so I looked it out and here it is.

I agree, Ulrich. There are many interesting details in the photo.

They did quite an efford to get all those people seated.
I like the lines the road and the tables draw and which hit each other somewhere out of the picture. And I like the white children's chair, as well as the empty one and the white car ...

Thanks, Leon, for pointing out how the lines are a truncated zigzag. I hadn't thought of that, but it's probably what attracted me to the photo (I got this at a collectibles market). The details thrust me back into the world of my childhood. That looks like a 1956 Ford, and the other details suggest it wasn't very old when this was taken. I feel as if I'm going to join them. Time travel.
