Rotterdam Erasmusbrug (#0119)
Erasmusbrug (Erasmus Bridge). The bridge is named after the prominent Christian humanist, Erasmus (of Rotterdam). The majority of the length of the bridge is a cable-stayed bridge, the right hand portion is a bascule for ships that can’t pass under the bridge. The bascule portion is the “largest and heaviest in Western Europe.”
