Thursday evening, downtown Raton.

Raton was, like Las Vegas earlier in the day, a very pleasant surprise. I was spending the night here so I could go to Capulin Volcano the next day and had expected it to be basically a dying western farm town. Instead I found a town with a rich history, a strong emphasis on preservation, and friendly, informative locals – a place to visit again.
