Las Vegas, NM locomotive (# 1079)
Unfortunately far too many of the ‘gift’ locomotives I’ve seen are in conditions like this. This locomotive is on the edge of Las Vegas, NM just before you get on I-25. It sits in a fairly large, unpaved, open space and appears to be very seldom visited.
The locomotive was built by Baldwin Locomotive in 1902 and used by the Santa Fe railroad until 1953, it was given to Las Vegas in 1956. For more pictures and detail, see: www.rgusrail.com/nmatsf1129.html
