Cascade Locks (#0247)
If you look closely in this view, you can see where the lock gates were (roughly in front of the blue car). Also visible is a large fishing platform reached by a ladder. I saw such platforms repeatedly along the Columbia. Piecing together information from multiple sites and from signs I saw along the river, these platforms seemed to be designed primarily for fishing by Indian tribes that live along the river and their design as platforms rather than docks seems to be related to net fishing that occurs during salmon runs.
