Cascade Locks Bridge of the Gods (#0238)

Cascade Locks Bridge of the Gods (#0238)
Bridge of the Gods was named after a landslide that occurred around 1700 and blocked the Columbia for an unknown number of years; in Native American culture the naturally created bridge was referred to as the Bridge of the Gods.

The man made bridge opened in 1926 but was elevated and lengthened in 1940 to accommodate the higher water levels that were the results of the Bonneville Dam. The bridge is owned and operated by the Port of Cascade Locks.
