The Tourelle (=turret) hostel lives up to its name. Since 2019, a sculpture by Zhivko Sedlarski entitled ‘La Bretonne’ has stood in the place in front. LA CLÔTURE DU CENTRE-VILLE. With its triple line of bathing cabins, the beach at Carolles is a reminder of the days when sea bathing was fashionable in the 19th century. Dans la baie du Mont St Michel se dressent, au sommet de quelques falaises du littoral, d'étranges cabanes de pierres. Datant du XVIIe siècle, la construction de ces abris a été ordonnée par Vauban, le célèbre architecte militaire de Louis XIV. Leur mission ? Surveiller l'horizon marin depuis les villages côtiers car on craignait une invasion anglaise. Elles ont été transformées par la suite en postes de gardes pour les douaniers à l'affût des contrebandiers. ROOF AND WALLS IN STONE - THE VAUBAN HUT. In the bay of Mont St Michel, on the top of some of the coastal cliffs, stand some strange stone huts. Dating from the 17th century, the construction of these shelters was ordered by Vauban, Louis XIV's famous military architect. Their mission? To keep an eye on the horizon from the coastal villages as an English invasion was feared. They were later transformed into guardhouses for customs officers on the lookout for smugglers. DACH UND MAUERN AUS STEIN - DIE VAUBAN-HÜTTE. In der Bucht des Mont St. Michel befinden sich auf einigen Klippen an der Küste seltsame Steinhütten. Der Bau dieser Hütten aus dem 17. Jh. wurde von Vauban, dem berühmten Militärarchitekten Ludwigs XIV, in Auftrag gegeben. Was war ihre Aufgabe? Den Meereshorizont von den Küstendörfern aus zu überwachen, da man eine englische Invasion befürchtete. Später wurden es Wachtposten für Zollbeamte, die nach Schmugglern Ausschau hielten.

Le château de la Foltière date du XIXe siècle, il s'érige au milieu du parc botanique de Haute-Bretagne et propose cinq chambres d'hôtes dans un cadre féérique. Vers la fin du XXe siècle le parc de 25 hectares est transformé en jardins thématiques et met en scène plus de 7000 espèces botaniques provenant de tous les continents. Il comprend 24 jardins différents, dont le jardin du Soleil-Levant, la cité antique, l’allée des roses anciennes, le reposoir de l’harmonie du soir, le labyrinthe de Knossos pour nommer quelques uns. La POINTE DU GROUIN est une pointe rocheuse et sauvage dominant la mer de 40 m. Elle signale et protège l'entrée de la baie du Mont-Saint-Michel. Sur ce promontoire, un sentier longe la falaise et propose une promenade circulaire au départ de Cancale. PANORAMIC VIEW OVER THE EMERALD COAST. The "POINTE DU GROUIN" is a rocky and wild point overlooking the sea with 40 m. It points out and protects the entrance into the bay of Mont Saint-Michel. On this headland, a footpath runs around hugging the cliff face and there is a circular walk starting out from Cancale. PANORAMABLICK ÜBER DIE SMARAGDKÜSTE. It is located in Cancale, a picturesque fishing port popular by its reputation as the "oyster capital" of Brittany. The oyster market at the harbour offers a wide variety at producer prices. At low tide part of the vast oyster beds are accesible. These beds harvest about 25,000 tons of oysters each year. LE BANC LE MIEUX PLACÉ SUR LA PROMENADE DE LA PLAGE. Il est situé à Cancale, un port de pêche pittoresque connu comme "capitale de l'huître" de la Bretagne. Le marché aux huîtres, situé sur le port propose une grande variété à prix producteur. À marée basse, une partie des vastes parcs à huîtres est accessible. Ces parcs récoltent environ 25 000 tonnes d'huîtres chaque année. DIE BESTPLAZIERTE BANK AN DER STRANDPROMENADE.
