Meeting with Victor Hugo - HBM

It was in Guernsey in his Hauteville House that Victor Hugo lived in exile from 1856 to 1870, after opposing the coup d'etat and the dictatorship of Napoleon III. He wrote there among others "Les Miserables". A small romantic-style garden still contains the oak planted by the writer in 1870 in honor of the "United States of Europe".

Il y a écrit entre autres "Les Misérables". Un petit jardin de style romantique contient toujours le chêne planté par l’écrivain en 1870 en l’honneur des "États-Unis d’Europe".

"Les Miserables". In einem kleinen romantischen Garten steht noch die Eiche, die der Schriftsteller 1870 zu Ehren der "Vereinigten Staaten von Europa" gepflanzt hat.
