Ein Sturmtief über Aschaffenburg - A stormfront over Aschaffenburg

During a visit to Aschaffenburg, I experienced at first hand how the storm low Nasim passed over Aschaffenburg. Sunshine, storms and rain showers alternated. The picture shows Aschaffenburg's Johannisburg Palace, which was built between 1605 and 1614 under Elector Archbishop Johann Schweikard von Kronberg directly on the banks of the river Main. It is is one of the most important palace buildings of the German late Renaissance. It was badly damaged during the Second World War and rebuilt in the post-war period. The museum has been open for tours since 1964.
