Ursprünglich 1973 als Focus-Kino eröffnet (Arch.Gunnar Bøgeberg Haugen), wurde das Gebäude ab 2003 völlig entkernt und, umgebaut nach den Plänen von HRTB Arkitekter AS, 2005 als Bibliothek wiedereröffnet. Beim Umbau blieb vom Kino lediglich das freitragende Betonschalendach im Stil des Architekten Félix Candela (Candela-Schale) erhalten.

besten Dank, Udo! Ja, die "Schneerutsche" ist genial! Aber die Art des Dachs hat ein spanisch-mexikanischer Architekt erfunden- und in der ehemaligen DDR gab es Ulrich Müther, der auch so entworfen hat.;-)

The reflections are the back of the building, the front is even better but there were too many cars and other stuff for a decent photo.

Da bin ich mehrmals staunend drumherum geschlendert - über die Geschichte des Gebäudes wusste ich allerdings nichts. Mich hat beeindruckt, wie aktiv in Norwegen zur Steigerung der Lesefreunde junger Leute beigetragen wird.
