Augsburg, Bahnhofstraße - or, Who needs Paris? (◕‿-) (Title inspired by Katja)

Heute findet man dort einen Architektur-Stilmix, u.a. Quelle: Augsburg-Wiki

➽ After in 1846 the main railway station was put into operation led yet 23 years only the narrow, unpaved "Pferseer Gäßchen" (Pfersee Alley) toward downtown. Not until the year 1869 the "Königsplatz" (Royal Square) was built and at the same time the representative "Bahnhofstrasse" (Train Station Street) emerged. After 1869 the small alley were broadened and thus created a shopping street and a suitable way for rail travelers to the city. Bit by bit the street became busier and was built on. Today one finds a mixture of architecture styles, inter alia, New Baroque, New Renaissance, Art Nouveau, but also concrete buildings from the 70s! There are a lot of shops, medical centers, bank buildings and restaurants, the street is now considered 1a-location in the property market. Source: Augsburg-Wiki
