HFF~ NC500 GT. - 63 – Wick
The Inner harbour of Wick (One of three harbours) has a lot of marine activity. This timber being prepared for loading on the 'Scot Carrier' a specialist timber carrying vessel that takes timber to and from many other Scottish harbours.

The NC 500: The Scottish 'North Coast 500' is one of the world’s most beautiful road trips. A route of just over 500 miles (516) of stunning coastal scenery, white sandy beaches, rugged mountains, remote fishing villages and hidden gems.

Enjoy the weekend.

Yep, saw a harbour wall like this at Campbelltown on the Mull of Kintyre peninsular too. Maybe waiting for the same ship?

My pleasure to share Roger.

Well captured Herb. The timber awaiting transportation is quite a familiar sight in Scotland. It must be big business there. I know they are replanting but it is a shame to see barren hillsides.
I understand they are replanting with species native to Scotland though, which is a good thing.

Best wishes Carol. HFF and have a good weekend

Yes a lot of re-planting with native species up there nowadays. As said to Roger, above, we saw timber on the harbour at Campbelltown on the Mull of Kintyre peninsular a year or two back too.

Hi Herb
I like this picture very much!
It is a very different and exciting composition, and great to see these old harbours still being used for trade purposes.
Fantastic colours too, even if it is mostly the mandatory safety fence
Best Wishes, (very late) HFF, a nice week ahead, and stay safe!!

Cheers for this Peter. It was an exciting place and we paid it scant attention in our limited time here. Glad you liked this capture that showed that the harbour was still in use at least.

Belated HFF, enjoy the week too. Herb
