Glad yo liked it John. A sight that I have seen and photographed before (6 years ago) and so I tried different p.o.v's this time.

Hi Toz, as said above to John, this was not my first trip to see this wreck but it held pleasant photographic memories. I took a handful of snaps and so yes, maybe some more will appear here. Many interesting coastal shots from near here to come though. However, I have yet to finish my Irish collection and so it may be some time before I get many more on here from this Cyprus trip.

Glad you liked this Marek. Yes, a great point of interest in this lovely little cove. As you say, the disaster cannot have been pleasant for the people involved at the time. Fortunately, I know, that nobody was hurt. I think sailors of such vessels are aware of the trials of the sea.

A wonderful image Herb, it seems strange that it has not been salvaged if it still has fuel onboard it is a disaster waiting to happen

Hi Peter, it seems that you did not follow the link in my description then. This explained that the cargo, fuel and all environmental pollutants were salvaged. The whole thing made safe and so then, no worries for anybody now-just a great photographic centre-point for us.

It's a great coastline with all the reefs and a beautifully composed photo. I suppose it was lucky that this wasn't an oil tanker;-)

Indeed you are right in everything here. An oil tanker would have been a real disaster. Glad you liked it.

Yes, in some ways I wondered whether to stick to either the beautiful natural coves or a close-up of the wreck -two separate subjects in one shot here. Mistake - we never really know. I will post more of the coast shortly. Glad you liked it.

She's certainly parked high and dry! I was glad to read that any possible pollutants were removed. It does make a great image though.

Thanks for this George. My close up images (un-posted as yet) make it look even higher and drier! As you say a great photo subject. Glad you enjoyed it and yes, all safe too.

A wonderful image Herb...........I love the sweeping curve of the coast line and of course, the wreck ship makes a superb distant focal point.

Some lovely rocks in the foreground and super wave action too. Beautifully done!

... you caught the waves/whitewater against the foreground rocks just right ... and the curve of the far shore carries the eye ...

... good that petroleum products were salvaged, but every time I see an abandoned shipwreck, the cynical environmentalist in me says: the entire county could recycle metal for decades, and not come close to the amount of steel corroding away in that abandoned hulk ... and ships that are sanitized and scuttled to form reefs for recreational fishing purposes, well that's a short-sighted waste of steel ... (hmm, used that soapbox up) ...
