The Dana

The Dana
Clean-up crews worked at a Shrewsbury bridge which was targeted by vandals just hours after reopening following an 11-month renovation project. The .graffiti artists had painted their tags on the Dana Footbridge which links the Castlefields area of Shrewsbury to the railway station and the town.
Engineers completed extensive steel work repairs on the structure as well as repairing and replacing timber panels and supporting beans and brick work. Windows were also replaced on the grade II listed footbridge and the deck walkway has been renewed with an anti-slip surface and the structure has been repainted.

What I cannot understand is why a slightly different colour of paint was used to cover the graffiti.

Buelipix, Ulrich John, Fred Fouarge, appo-fam and 32 other people have particularly liked this photo

It looks good, it annoys me when people call it street art spraying someones property is vandalism no where is safe from their mindless spraying, I question how they can afford the cans of paint. In Leicester the council have giving up trying to keep the one remaining subway clear of it and it is now painting area !!! not that anyone of sound mind would venture down there

Cool perspective! I simply don't get why taggers must spoil everything, they seem to be attracted by pristine surfaces and real street art and deface both.

Beautifully composed...............and perfectly exposed Amelia. You've kept the whites white and the details in the darker areas and the scene at the other end. Not always easy!

I always think that white is probably not the best choice for areas like this. Graffiti aside, it shows the dirt very quickly and soon becomes unattractive.

Well chosen point of view, Amelia.

We do have also problems with graffiti and tags, but on top there are the locks placed on nice railings everywhere:
