JUST A TOURIST TRAP IMHO... I'VE BOUGHT A TANK TOP AND A MAGNET, THAT WAS IT.
BUT IT IS ALSO ANOTHER KIND OF TRAP, IF YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN, LOL!

Oha... With so much advertising, it can not be the true 51. Thanks for the photography. I do not like the hustle and bustle about this thing

A highly restricted area, much discussed by conspiracy theorists, I hear. At least you've seen the tourist interface. Bet they didn't let you inside the gates, or at least not far inside.

Not been out that way, but have seen documentaries on cable tv of people who really want to see if there is anything about Area 51 ---- about as close as they get is when an official-looking truck comes over the horizon and they are turned back.
Do know some areas out West have been used for 'testing' -- my Dad was one who designed the buildings for different areas.
Of course, he couldn't say anything about what he did out there ..

Go check your Ipermail..

We did not see more than enclosed way on the right side and the tourist trap... Of course your father cannot disclose information.

Ha! i like these shots but I dislike conspiracy theories and theorists rather a lot!! 99.99 are all a load of baloney (imho) ... but that tiny residual amount ... well ...

An interesting pair of tourist trap images. Curiously, I saw an item about Area 51 in the news just yesterday.

Oh oh, you are very up to date with your photo! You know that tomorrow, Friday, September 20, two million people will storm Area 51 and try to free the aliens. More than two million people have registered for the event, another 1.5 million people have stated that they are "interested" in the event. :-)
But the "real" Area 51 is around 85 km to the north-east, near the Groom Lake. This here is only the Area 51 Alien Center. ;-)

As I told Sami fortunately we are back to Portugal... and not just there! The area was totaly uninteresting, but I purchased a fine tanktop and refilled my water flask!!!!!

There are interesting things going on in Area 51 and other parts of the desert, but it's pretty obvious that they are related to testing of military weapons and drones and such. You can see the actual area 51, including the air strip, with Google Earth, but most of the facilities are underground. I did some research on this when a character in a novella I wrote more or less accidentally stumbles into the area, which can happen, though you wouldn't get very far until you'd be spotted and escorted back at gunpoint ...
As for the Facebook event to "storm" the area, that event was created as a joke. But I'm sure the Army is ready if anyone actually shows up.

Obrigada for all this info, Sarah. We just stopped 15" in that area, I would have enjoyed staying more by the Joshua trees... but we had a schedule...

yes, the Joshua trees are amazing ... must go back there sometime, haven't been in decades.
