HFF...beware of crocodiles!

HFF...beware of crocodiles!
And NO swimming. Far North Queensland river crossing . No swimming in this idyllic tropical water...danger of being eaten by crocodiles. One of the ironies of Northern Australia

The saltwater crocodiles are large, aggressive and kill a few people a year.....they move up coastal rivers, quite a distance from the ocean.

It looks so peaceful too! A lovely shot of these dangerous waters Diana. Are there no earlier warning signs, - it seems so close to the water you could almost be stepping on one when you stop to read it! HFF and have a good weekend - nd stay safe - no swimming!

It's much like Florida or tropical Africa! It seems they should have the sign in more languages than German only.

By the way, American alligators are smaller and less likely to chase you onto land to attack. When they do attack, they are less aggressive than crocs...if that's any comfort to you...;-/

Oh gosh, I think the warning signs are really close to the water. If you stand there, a crocodile that you could see could easily run outside and eat you ;-))) HFF Diana, and take care...

Not a thing to relish; being eaten by crocodiles. We went on a trip in Jamaica a year or so back, to a crocodile swamp/river and when you see these thing with their gaping jaws open revealing sharp teeth you certainly think again about getting too near them. Great shot here.
