They are beautiful...wild and almost empty of people. Just one village. The rest...wildlife areas...and gorgeous. We went with a group called Heritage expeditions. They go once per year and have a max of 50 pax. Much of it is in gumboots and outdoor gear on rubber boats or tramping across the tundra...down Chukotka, Kamchatka and the Commander Islands. We joined it via Nome. It is a NZ outfit, with an office in Bend, OR.

Oh, really? Interesting! My only problem, now that I'm so old, is that my physical condition can't keep up with my travel fantasies, especially involving tramping across tundra and other things.
Oh well! : (

Sorry to hear that. I am 65 and pushing as hard as I can to do as much " out there" physical things in remote places while I still can.....despite some bone and joint problems.
I guess one marvellous thing these days with Internet, TV, and such access to media, is that it is so much easier now to travel vicariously.
Best wishes...Diana
