Morning Feast

Rainbow Lorikeet on the Golden Penda in the Noosa hinterland, Queensland, Australia. I was very lucky that the Golden Penda is so attractive to the native birds that this Lorikeet stayed around for a while. These aptly named beautiful Australian birds, the Rainbow Lorikeets, parrots, have incredibly brightly coloured feathers, and a distinctive screeching call. In Noosa they fly between the Noosa River and the Hinterland feeding on the rich variety of flowering/fruiting trees and shrubs. 6/31 March, 365 Colours. Archive Airings AA21 Patterns.

332/365: "There's no happier person than a truly thankful, content person." ~ Joyce Meyer

3 more pictures in notes above ! :) I hope you all had a lovely holiday, if this was a festive one for you! Steve and I celebrated quietly and had a very wonderful day! He played video games and I took the dogs up the hill for another exploration picture hunt! WHAT A DAY!! So many wonderful mushrooms and interesting fungus, I can't wait to get them all processed. Unfortunately I'm rushed for time so can't write much this evening, but I had a great time finding subjects. :) Today's Pick of the Day is an impossibly tiny mushroom I found inside the crevice of a rotting log. The only reason I saw it was because it was white against dark brown bark and had shiny droplets on it that caught the light. To my amazement, I found that it was on a stick and so I was able to carefully take it out for more pictures. One of the insets shows a picture of it before I took it out--LOOK AT THE DEWDROPS!!! AMAZING!! Joyce Meyer (born Pauline Joyce Hutchison; June 4, 1943) is a Charismatic Christian author and speaker. Meyer and her husband Dave have four grown children, and live outside St. Louis, Missouri. Her ministry is headquartered in the St. Louis suburb of Fenton, Missouri. Molly in Her Element (2 more inset pictures)

2 more pictures above in notes! :D On the day that I took this picture, Molly was given permission to join Moosie and Zoe on our walks up the hill to the trail along the ridgeline because she was finally fit enough to attempt this challenge. At one point, I stopped to let the dogs rest while I took some pictures, and when I looked up, here was Molly--regal, beautiful, and in her element. I wanted to post this picture because Molly was so happy today and so--GRATEFUL--to get to go. Unlike our other dogs, she really recognizes these walks as a very special event, and she lets me know the entire way just how happy she is. What a sweet girl!! LOVE THAT MOLLY GIRL!!! :) (Above are the other two pictures I processed from that wonderful day!)

Another Gorgeous Sunset with Boiling Clouds

This is the same sunset as the one in the main image, looking south instead of west. The cloud bank with the splashes of pink above were so pretty and not something I've seen before.

324/365: "Everyone can identify with a fragrant garden, with the beauty of a sunset, with the quiet of nature, with a warm and cozy cottage." ~ Thomas Kinkade

2 more pictures and a note above ! :) I planned to choose a mushroom image for my Picture of the Day, as I'd gone out this morning and gotten pictures of a bunch of different mushrooms. However, as the day was coming to an end, I looked outside and once again was overcome by an amazing sunset! Then came the argument with myself: "Oh, it's such a pretty sunset! I should take a picture!" "No, I've got plenty of sunset pictures!" "But it's so pinky-red and gorgeous!" "People are going to get sick of my sunsets!" "But this one is different!" "Oh alright...I'd better hurry or I'll miss it!!" Once again, I somehow managed to capture the most brilliant colors with my first picture, and each one after was less striking. The next picture I'm sharing this evening is the same sunset pointing to the south, showing dramatic clouds with a splash of color. It was taken a couple of minutes later... look at how the colors have faded! Still pretty, but it's not the same eye-popping color palette. I've got one mushroom picture to share along with the other sunset image...wow, I'm really starting to pile up the mushroom images and I can't catch up with all the processing! Well, hopefully I'll be able to get them all done so you can see them as time permits! (Now is the time to start laughing...because I have some really neat mushroom pictures that I haven't gotten to...and they're from last spring!! Too many pictures, not enough time! :D) Thomas Kinkade (January 19, 1958 – April 6, 2012) was an American painter of popular realistic, bucolic, and idyllic subjects. He is notable for the mass marketing of his work as printed reproductions and other licensed products via The Thomas Kinkade Company. He characterized himself as "Thomas Kinkade, Painter of Light," a phrase he protected through trademark but one originally attributed to the English master J.M.W. Turner (1775–1851). It is estimated that 1 in every 20 American homes owns a copy of one of his paintings. Wikipedia: Thomas Kinkade Explored on November 21, 2013. Highest placement, page 2 (#40).
