Feeling awful tonight, on the dreadful news of the loss of hundreds of people in Laos after the failure of a partly-built dam. I was fortunate to visit the country a few years ago and to meet some of its lovely people. This was taken at a resort stay not far from the site of this disaster, with (if I recall correctly) the Tad Fane falls in the distance.

Gudrun, Fred Fouarge, Malik Raoulda, neira-Dan and 17 other people have particularly liked this photo

Wow George your photo here gives us some idea of what conditions are like in this part of the world. Great shot of the falls but the thought of a burst dam in valleys like this is beyond our understanding.

Cheers, Herb

A long lead-in to the waterfall, which to me makes it more striking.

The losses do not seem as bad as first feared, George, but the news is shocking, as are the reports of wild fires in Greece. It seems as if the whole world is being affected by natural or man-made tragedies.
