Through the Fern Forest

o0o made available for forestry I am amazed ... and I hope it does not happen,
but I suspect as here and everywhere these decisions are made for the wrong
reasons ultimately but will happen no doubt. I love to see these wonderful
tree ferns ... and indeed we do see them in our garden centres, small of course
and they are enjoyed very much indeed ... but you need them growing where
they are now and not removed ... always there seems to be big problems
when trees of any kind are removed grand scale .. I hope they rethink and
love your walk amongst these ... how lovely to be there oOo

Thank you, Bev. Yes, does indeed seem to be for the wrong reasons - and, I gather, the first time ever that any government has asked for removal from World Heritage listing! But it's all a remarkable area to visit. :)

Where are the dinosaurs? :)) fantastic clear and sharp all over...I agree with Larry.

The only dinosaur was behind the camera. :)) But yes, these fern forests go back to the Jurassic times when dinos roamed around Gondwana.

I can't believe either that any government would allow this to be destroyed, but ours does the same. Beautiful!

Thanks, Bev. Yes, I think these tree ferns are very much relics of Gondwana and essentially restricted to the Southern Hemisphere.

Are they available there? I'd suspect it might survive your climate.

yes I believe they are at great expense ;-) and they advise
that they are wrapped in sacking during the winter months !
