Kunzea Flower

Kunzea Flower
I really don't know why, but it seems this is called "Tick Bush". Ticks are the ultimate turn-off, so I think I prefer the botanical name of Kunzea ambigua. We found this (without any ticks) in eastern Tasmania, but it also grows in areas of the SE coast of mainland Australia. The flowers are 2-3 cm across.

Gerda, crisbou, krancmm (away until September), Maria and 7 other people have particularly liked this photo

It looks very intricate and complicated but manages to exude beauty - despite its common name! :)

Thank you Ian. Yes, it's not quite as complex as it looks. There are a group of buds, but the flower on the right is fully open with five petals and all the multiple stamens.
