I recommend sometimes trying to combine two or more images where the movement goes to different directions ;-)

I only chose so called Av-mode, where one can "lock" the exposure time. Then camera takes care of aperture and ISO value.

Then during the 4 second exposure, I tried to hold camera steady for 2 seconds, and then slowly started to tilt it vertically. Not very difficult after all. But of course one often have to take multiple shots to get it well enough.

did you hold then tilt up, or tilt down then hold? what a great effect.

First I hold the camera steady, and then started to tilt downwards. I think it is easier that way.

Similar effect can be achieved accidentally with cameras and lenses with stabilizer and shorter exposures. First during the hand held exposure the stabilizer tries to hold the view staedy, but then it has to give up. That is what has happened here:
