Lovely photos that evoke festive feelings!
In our town there has been a debate about Christmas lights and energy saving, so the big illuminations haven't been installed this year (they were ugly anyway;-) and the others are reduced.
The commercial illuminations which cost an entrance fee and look similar to the ones in your photos have gone ahead though....

We need some joy after all that has happened this year. The display in Bournemouth was free, but I'm sure they were hoping people would spend some money on the wheel and many food stalls. In my small town they have erected the Christmas trees but not dressed them yet. That is usually a night when the local brass band play and the shops open late.

Not the most tasteful of Christmas decorations here, Rosa, but much better than some - including those in Shrewsbury!. I have to say that I do love the second PiP.

It looks better at night than in the daytime ;-) The wheel is in place all year round, but I don't have a head for heights these days.

I am pleased you like the colourful displays. We only walked around a few of them before
driving home after our visit to the museum. Apparently there was a mile of Christmas trees
and lights.

Wonderful nighttime and seasonal images Rosalyn, there is a big wheel in Leicester but it's temporary it starts on the Golden Mile for Diwali then is moved into the centre for Christmas with an ice rink. November is almost over I hope you have a nice December

Thank you very much Peter. Bournemouth also has an ice rink. It seems to be the thing in most large towns and cities now. My skating days are over....I used to skate often when I was living in B'mouth, training for my job. They used to have a permanent indoor ice rink, but I don't think it's there anymore.
