You must take at least as many photos as I do Rosa. Every day something else. Another fine example of your roving eye here. A nice bit of history -of which I can hardly think what it must have been like locked up in there. Well done.

Probably not quite as many as you Herb, haha! Those locked up were probably so drunk that they were thankful for a place to sleep it off ;-) It is quite near the local Inn!!

Yes I bet it could Keith! I haven't ever seen it being used for anything. It will soon need a little care and attention I think. The door is beautiful and you can see inside through the small grill.

A wonderful relic from the lawless past ! I would like to have a look in the one at Ticknall which has a fireplace, it's said that a lot of the clients came from a local pub where the landlady had a key and would let them out, if any pauper was found sleeping rough they would be put in for the night as it was a better option for them. Thank you Peter. I would think that this lock-up was used in a similar way, with drunks unable to find their way home and given shelter for the night. I will have to look into it more.

An interesting little lock-up, Rosa. If not for the detail in the PiP, I'd have thought it older. At least it's been preserved.

I was also surprised that it was not older George.
It will soon need some attention, so I that has been noticed.
